Publishing Timeline: Trade Show / Conference / Festival Calendaring with Your Pub Date as the Anchor
This Is Something You Can Map Out 12 Months (Or More) Before Your Book Publishes
The Publishing Timeline keeps timetable and calendaring top-of-mind, as I work to share strategies of what you should be doing and when for your book campaign. Part of this is making sure to take advantage of certain types of event programming. Pub dates really matter here, because when your book comes out will impact and determine which and what types of conferences/shows will actually make sense for your campaign.
There are major publishing industry trade shows, conferences, and book festivals that happen throughout the year all over the country, which offer up fantastic opportunities to promote and sell copies of your book. Once you’ve got an official publication date, you can determine which events make the most sense for you to attend, and then set about getting submitted for programming.
